harpletunnel harpletunnel Welcome and thanks for stopping by.

A little about myself         49 and learning a new trick. 9 years fooling around and now that I can start to get around on the harp I am going out and hooking up with other musicians. Looking for a guitar player or band for blues.

''Not to bad on the high notes would of liked if you played some low notes to break it up little more, not bad all around for 3rd position!''

''Some very nice stuff in 3rd, good job... Agree about adding effects, will help you harp blend in more with the backing track.''

''I think this is a great start at third position, chrome style playing! Lot's melodic variety and milking that harp for tone. Better equipment would have put you more into the track tone-wise. Harp was a little dry. Got it going on!''

''Nice harping ,has feeling in it.The harp volume could be lower compared to the BT''

''Some good stuff in there HT. When you mix it down, experiment with delay settings. It'll fatten and pretty up your sound somewhat. Echo can be used sparingly at times too. Good playing.''

''I didn't mean for you to to all that work.I just meant lower the volume of the harp track you already had when you mix (not play it again!), but I like this playing a lot-it was worthwhile effort!''

''I think you have some nice 3rd pos licks in here, but harp is way too high and needs more reverb.Try reposting with a better mix.''

''I don't know enough about 3rd position to be critical. I like it when people go out on a limb and throw in more high end stuff. Mix with B-T and guitar could have been a little better.''

''Harp way too high, couldn't get past that. Third position harder than it seems, I have yet to do one I'd post...keep at it!''

''Some cool playing e.g. around 3:00. My first attempts at an SM58 into the PC had a similar sound. Running first through a preamp cleaned it right up.''

''play is great.maybe try to use headphones on recording and split the bt-track and the harptrack to remix it after recording.you have a lot soul, man!''
           --huhn

        1st Set Warmup
''I think the harp outweighed the bt a little. Other than that is sounded good to me.''
           --Mc7

        1st Set Warmup
''Yeah...seemed to clip a bit, but was alright. Kept a nice variety of licks, good vibrato too HT. Liked it.''

        1st Set Warmup
''Wow, the harp sounds really good. Worth an attempt at a redo to get the mix right.''

        1st Set Warmup
''I like the timing and your acoustic hand work, you need little more work on the bends some where just touch off not bad for 3rd position its tricky around the 7 bend I should know Ido this same thing in third!''
           --Bro.Bob

        1st Set Warmup
''Too bad for all that clipping, because the playing is really nice. I love that vibrato too!''

        1st Set Warmup
''You deserve a good bitch slappin buddy (-: Recording quality aside, the playing was very sweet and bluesy, and I think you have a very nice vibrato. Enjoyed it!''
           --Mark wilson

        1st Set Warmup
''some very good playing but as you said too much gain I have the same poroblem if you can't hear your harp while recording, why not just turn down the bt loudness and listen to the acoustic harp tone? I usually do it like that''
           --Radiopirat

        1st Set Warmup
''Some smoking harpage going down on this one Harpletunnel.....perhaps also a touch of clipping? maybe due to that tweek on the gain (careful)...good post''
           --Peter Holliman

        1st Set Warmup
''Harp is too loud in the mix and too busy during the guitar solos for my taste. Otherwise, your playing sounds great to me''
           --Appleman Ed

        1st Set Warmup
''That sounds good - mostly you need to mind the recording levels''
           --Eric Stahl

''No harppletunnel on this post, just nice easy playin' - hanging around here is putting you up a notch. I'm thinkin' you are gonna be ratcheting your style up more and more''
           --Ronnie

Got No Valentine Just The Blues
''Good stuff. It is just clipping slightly. Just give it less recording volume and a little reverb; won't take long. Beezlebob-1847 harps don't really have harsh tone.''
           --BlueInGreen

Got No Valentine Just The Blues
''love your style, direct coming from the buttom.well done to spent time playing instead of polishing recording knobs.lol''

''Don't sweat the sound quality. Your playing is good, the recording refinement can be worked out, that's just mechanics.''

Got No Valentine Just The Blues
''Sounds good. great bluesy playing ! sound quality isn't the best but we still can hear what you are doing so it's all good :)''

''Once you get going, I think we could call you the tone king. If you are doing that with minimal gear that's a real achievement. Great melodic variation. Kept my interest. I wonder if your rhythm is just a bit disconnected from the BTrack.''
           --Rick

Got No Valentine Just The Blues
''Sounds good to me. Maybe a bit more verb to set the harp in the mix better.''
           --dblues

Got No Valentine Just The Blues
''Lovely sensitive playing. Sound quality good except louder notes that are clipping. Easily fixed by turning down mic input sensitivity in PC recording volume control and/or mic input slider in Audacity so no "flat tops" seen in the track display.''
           --tonedeft

Got No Valentine Just The Blues
''I like what and how you're playing, and understand you have little time but for practice - but think temporarily taking a little time to improve the recording quality would make a big difference.''
